I'm finding the experience incredibly unpleasant, actually. I haven't gotten high in a decade, and had a hypothesis that matters might have improved in that time.

Pass. I refuse to open a door to whatever dreams this might provoke.

Anyway, you've distracted me. I actually don't know much at all about reversing Liminal abilities. What's changed for you in the past month?

Ugh. I'll recalibrate my expectations, but currently my perception of time is [...] suboptimal.

Really. How much of one?

You'd think I would've learned by now not to underestimate Annie.

That's incredible. You're not going to cut them off, are you?

Inconvenient. They must snag on your clothes.

[...] I have four different responses and I can't focus on any damn one of them, so I'm making you choose. Pick a number from 1 to 4.

3 is the worst one. Pick a different number.

Because my thoughts currently feel like they're floating in a cloud outside of me, impairing my ability to distinguish a good one from a bad one. Well, they're all good, really. They came from my brain. But people can be sensitive.

Less than most. It's one of your better qualities.

[...] Fine. I'd like to see your spinal growths, and I don't know how to word this in a way that doesn't sound like a flirtatious overture.

Now I'm going to wonder if that was a flirtatious overture.

In all seriousness, of course I asked. Your emergent mutations are wholly unique and should be documented. If nothing else, it'll provide a useful comparison when you go the self-hating route and find a drug trial for a Liminal cure.

It probably won't be Do you ever worry about losing the ability to breathe air?

I'd apologize, but you knew I wasn't going to be comforting when you decided to speak to me.

Still, given the progression of your mutations so far, it's unlikely that such a shift would be sudden. You really should enlist someone to monitor your changes. If you haven't already.

And I knew you wouldn't ignore me while I'm high, so we're both getting something out of this.

Train of thought. I keep losing it. Everyone's so concerned about a traumatic shock to Eden and Willy if their powers were cut off, so the better solution may be a gradual reversal of their Liminality. Although if you ask me, Jack is overreacting. We're made to be more resilient than that.
