It's Monday. [...] Where are you?

It's been quiet around here. You can hardly blame me for wanting to stay occupied.

Welcome home. What sort of dire situation could you have possibly stumbled into in your own apartment?

Despite the things I say, I do enjoy having y people around. They keep things interesting.

Personally, I would find an elaborate and evil Rube Goldberg machine to be the nicest gift of all.

I've already had to adjust my list of the most useless employees at Enodia. Turns out some people's contributions to the ambiance can't be properly measured until they're gone.

Before you go to any great lengths, you should know that one bottle cost me less than twenty dollars and the other one didn't cost me anything at all, so I've technically avoided your requirements for a nice gift.

He of the green-stained fingers and clouds of vape fumes? Absolutely not. But I did find myself missing Spirit, just a little bit. You can always foretell their presence by the waves of annoyance that ripple through a crowd, like a forest wildfire. Few people make that kind of impact on the world.

Wow. You like that I committed a crime for you.

[...] And I missed you too. More than a little bit.

You'll be reassured to know that I made a point to avoid a credible charge of grand larceny with the bottle I stole for you. The bottle I stole for me, however...

Too much, then?

Let's see if I can make this entertaining. They renovated the wine cellar six years ago, long after I moved out. My first obstacle is a sealed door which can only be unlocked on a keypad with a four-digit code. How do you imagine I bypassed this door?

Because I'm not behaving according to my previously established pattern. But then, neither are you.

Work smart, not hard. I asked my sister if she knew the code.

And what are you thinking?

My parents care more about appearances than reality. Crysta also warned me about the hidden security camera, and I only had to offer one favour for the information.

If you're [...] Yes. I'd like that.

Ah, well. After what happened at Thanksgiving, Crysta may be feeling merciful towards me.

You know, I could see you now, for professional reasons.

Honestly? It was typical. [...] I left less than five minutes after we all sat down for dinner. Crysta and I went to a Red Lobster instead.

Control yourself, then. I want to measure your fin.

I wore a suit and Crysta was in a dress and pearls. She made us order the king crab. We got sickeningly drunk on sugary cocktails.
